Zoe Wallace

Zoe Wallace was born in Adelaide, Australia and began studying cello with Janos Laurs at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. From 2001 to 2003 she studied with professor Christian Wojtowicz at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, completing her Bachelor of Music with first class honours.

Zoe has worked with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and held the position of principal cellist with the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Ensemble Shiraz String Orchestra. She was recipient of the Jan Sedivka Music Scholarship in 2004, the Thomas Matthews Memorial Scholarship in 2001 and listed on the Deans Roll of Academic Excellence in 2001 and 2002.

In July 2004, Zoe decided to further her studies in Europe, commencing her studies with Jan-Ype Nota and Michel Strauss at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. Since this time, she has participated in the Netherlands Youth Orchestra, the Kodaly-Bartok World Youth Orchestra, the Le Teil Summer Academy and the Peter the Great Festival and been an active chamber and orchestral musician with groups such The Alinga Duo, Camerata Ardesko, Duo Galante and the Prins Claus Conservatorium Cello Octet.
